Group Legal consists of over 40 lawyers, either based at our Hong Kong headquarters or working directly within the various business units globally.

We handle all legal matters and manage legal risks across the business, covering a range of areas, including corporate, commercial contracts, intellectual property, litigation, data privacy and competition, to name but a few.

Although individual team members may have their own specialism, our strength comes from shared responsibilities across the team and a ‘can do’ attitude, so that everyone maintains a practice as broad as possible. We are responsible for a coherent group-wide approach to important legal and regulatory issues and the lawyers in the various business units have regular interaction with the lawyers in the central function. We also work closely with the legal team from our parent company, CK Hutchison Holdings, to ensure best practice sharing across the wider Group. We are part of the management team across the Group and pride ourselves in maintaining a very close working relationship with our business unit colleagues, so that we can shape our legal advice to the commercial context in a practical, user-friendly way.

We also partner with team members in Group Finance, Tax and Audit on various strategic projects, as well as day-to-day business, statutory reporting and compliance. We are an established team of commercially-minded, legal professionals. Many of us have worked with the Group for more than 10 years.
