Medical & Dental
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is a leading healthcare provider serving approximately two million people across central and southern England, offering care for all ages in a range of home, community, and inpatient settings. We provide a full spectrum of mental health services, including CAMHS, adult eating disorder, forensic mental health, and learning disabilities care, along with community health and primary care services.
At Oxford Health we offer a wide variety of medical and dental roles, which include consultants, specialty doctors and locally employed doctors working in psychiatry across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Wiltshire. In addition, we recruit to a variety of GP and dental roles across our community services based in Oxfordshire. The Trust is deeply committed to innovation and research, with strong links to the University of Oxford’s Department of Psychiatry and substantial research funding from organisations like the MRC, The Wellcome Trust, and NIHR.
Our Roles

At Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, we employ locally employed doctors (LEDs) and clinical fellows in various roles, often to cover gaps in the core psychiatry training scheme across the Thames Valley and Wiltshire. LEDs are encouraged to participate in local teaching programs, which include professorial meetings, journal clubs, and Balint group sessions held in Oxford and Buckinghamshire. They are supported by medical leadership, the Medical Workforce and Education Team, and the Resident Doctor Forum (RDF), which helps address issues through quarterly meetings and negotiations.
The Trust anticipates expanding the number of LED posts in the coming years and plans to introduce an LED Lead role within the Medical Education team to further support their professional development. This role will assist LEDs in progressing their careers, whether through application for core training positions or exploring other medical roles, such as specialty doctor positions. LEDs are highly valued members of the Oxford Health medical community, and prospective candidates are encouraged to monitor our website for upcoming opportunities.
