PDFs and other documents


PDFs that are not essential to providing our services and were published before 23 September 2018 are out of scope of the regulations.


Most of our old PDFs and downloadable documents require improved title descriptions, can be difficult to navigate due to poor use of bookmarks, are not fully machine readable and are untagged. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1, 1.3.1, 2.4.2, 2.4.5 and 3.1.1.

Within the site we have content which is provided to us by third party organisations. Whilst we advise on best practice, we have not paid for or developed the content ourselves and therefore the content is within someone else’s control.


Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on the 16th of August 2024.  It was last reviewed on the 28th of November 2024.

This website is tested against WCAG 2.2 criterion using manual and semi-automated testing tools: Sitemorse individual page scans are carried out by the digital team. WAVE accessibility checker is also used to identify issues on our site. We also carry out manual testing using the SiteMorse accessibility tester tool - see Siteimprove website accessibility checker. We monitor the site regularly and fix identified issues by applying WCAG 2.2 AA standards, aiming for AAA where possible.

This website was manually tested against WACG 2.2 criterion and was last audited on the 18th of September 2024.
