We want the best and brightest team members, and our People team are here to keep them not only happy but inspired💡. From working on talent acquisition to making sure our policies are the best in town, the People team are keeping our culture thriving. 

Our People team 👥 are HR generalists and specialists covering  Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Policy, ER, Internal Comms, Culture and Inclusion & Diversity.

The culture! I joined the business back in 2019, when I had heard so much about its people, its amazing culture and the many opportunities to grow as a person and your skill set. With a background in Learning and development, it felt like a great opportunity for me to grow📈 and develop myself in a larger business with great people! 

What is it like to work as part of your team? 

The Haven people team is the function I work with and specifically Culture & Wellbeing department. I have the honour and privilege to lead both these special areas across Haven and collaborate with so many people across the business, to ensure we are living our values and daring to care for our team.

What does a typical day look like in your role? 

No day is ever the same! Sounds cheesy, but I do love my role and have the opportunity every day to add value and hopefully make a difference in both their professional and personal lives, through looking after the wellbeing approach.



What training and development have you received?

Since joining the business I’ve led many Leadership development courses📚, as well as having my insights completed and been on the GROW to senior leader programme.

Who is your favourite member of the Seaside squad?

It would be wrong of me to pick one, as they all have their own amazing qualities…. But who doesn’t like a cheeky monkey 😉

Chris Gledhill, Culture & Development Manager

Haven not only helps to provide long and part-time positions with flexibility for team members’ needs. But it also maps and shapes career opportunities for all, supports their development and provides all necessary resources for development. All whilst encompassed in an inclusive and thriving culture 👥

The Learning & Development team are an amazing group of individuals. We push and innovate each other to be the best versions of ourselves and create the best work we can for the business.

Currently, I am working on a project to help provide all of our new leaders in the business with a strategic overview of our business strategies 🎯. Whilst spending 2 weeks at our Cala Gran site hosting a work experience opportunity to support our Early Careers project.


I have recently completed the Bourne Degree Apprenticeship. A 4-year programme where the business paid for me to gain experience within different departments, at different levels, whilst paying for a degree in Business Management.

Rory the Tiger, when visiting as a child I got selected in the evening entertainment to dance with Rory on stage. It was the highlight of my holiday! 🪩

I am the talent  lead for the parks 🌊, and one of my big projects at the moment is our  Inclusion & Diversity recruitment work-stream

I’m new to Haven and so far I love the variety and the fun element to each day! I joined Haven knowing that it’s a fun, inclusive and diverse environment and I wanted to get back to my roots in hospitality whilst doing what I love in recruitment.

 It’s fantastic! Everyone has a part to play and brings their own slice of unique personality to one great team!

My day really is different every day! I could be helping our people administrators to speaking to candidates about joining us for the summer ☀️. I’m involved in multiple projects at the moment so getting stuck in with updating seasonal engagement this week!

I’m halfway through my 3 month induction and it has been incredible so far.

 It has to be George as he was the first member of the seaside squad I met 😊
